Bandar Seri Jempol, OMHS Study

Went to Bandar Seri Jempol this week. Such a long drive through Bukit Putus, 35km odd to Kuala Pilah, and another 35km to Bandar Seri Jempol, all through trunk roads. No highways, and we had to endure a winding road around Bukit Putus uphill and downhill.

Enjoyed the 'trip' however, seemed more like a holiday than field work to me. We had good accomodation, chinese food is readily available in nearby Bahau, and the people there in Jempol are very friendly indeed. Maybe that's just because we're all going to be working partners in a few years time...

Clean rooms are such a wonder to tourists

A rural area, free from the smog and traffic jams of KL. Plantations on both sides of the road instead of skyscrappers and apartments after apartments. In the morning, I could even drive with my window down just to enjoy the fresh air, which I did on 2 occassions.

The hospital is big, well equipped, but lacking specialist. Guess no one is interested yet to apply for a job in the FELDA area. The associated government offices are well placed within an area, the so called new administrative town, Bandar Seri Jempol. That made our travels and interviews very easy. Reminds me of the Lake Gardens here where all the offices are also sort of cramped near the lake.

This is a hotel lobby, not a hospital's

Conclusion :

  • Jempol is a nice area for busy, single and still available bachelors
  • Food is expensive even in a rural setting
  • The Singapore Chicken Rice in Bahau is very yarmmylicious
  • Bahau is not as rural as initially thought
  • Avian influenza can strike at any other normal days
  • Conflicts arise when there are trouble-makers in the group

Vanity Fair

Was browsing through some blogs today, and found one interesting blog. It was some blog about dreams to fly, not to mention also about vanity.

OMG, let's not pass judgements yet, it was only the beginning of the blog. However I have a strong feeling in my stomach that there will be no other posts other than the announcement and reannoucement and reannouncement of the particular dream to fly. Maybe some people take their blog as a broadcast centre of their dreams, maybe some of them tell the world about their vanity there too.

Finally, I realised that I had became too critical of things. Haha!

TiTi, damn you're doomed...
