Saw the first baby born that day in my O&G posting. We were watching the nurses stitching up the episiotomy, when we heard 2 cries of pain. The elder nurse immediately ran out, closely followed by us. However, to our dismay, the nurse exclaimed, 'Aiya... Dah terlambat!!!'
There it was, a human barely 1 year old lying between her mother's legs. She (the baby) seems confused---where am I? What is this bright place? Where's the swimming pool I lived in? She (the mother) was confused all right---WTF so fast?? Over already? OUCH!!!?? PAIN!!!??
Well, the baby looked even worse than what I've imagined. It seems the newborn pictures (those where the doctors held them up by the legs for the camera) were taken AFTER they cleaned the baby. It turns out that the real thing looks, well, kind of; odd, sticky, and out of place... I even remembered a comment of a newborn that I read about somewhere, 'Wow, that looks like a monkey!'
Well, welcome to the planet of the apes, new one... Don't worry, there lots and lots of apes around... Monkey business, anyone?
p/s : I was labelled a monkey-boy by the little mischief Dion... OMG!
