Exams

Phase 2 Part C exams looming very very near... Tired of all the pondering-over-question sessions, and the brainstorm while memorizing hard cold facts. Ah! The world will be a better place without exams... So bored! To hell with it! I didn't even play my routine DoTA for the past few weeks! OMG in the coming 2 months of holidays, I will play for every single minute I can spare...

Mass Media & Religion

I just read through an article on the newspapers today. It was mourning a Chechen's (rebel?) leader death.

Now, the same newspaper condemned the actions of Israel no doubt, and the war (whatever war) on injuring and killing innocent Arabs. Well, this is justified. I condemn war too. No single innocent people should die, they did nothing!

However, this newspapers is somehow trying to idolize this Chechen leader among its readers. Their action, of capturing a hospital and taking it's staff hostage to press Russia to accept their terms, is mentioned as if it brings glory...? I think the people in the hospital must be armed to the teeth and pose a SERIOUS threat to the Chechens...

Double standards. I'm sick of it seeing it all day!

And the same newspaper seriously praised Zidane for headbutting Materazzi! Well, in my opinion, although Materazzi deserved to be headbutted, no sportsman should really repeat Zidane's action. He, by far should be the best person to know that the French depended much on his charisma and keep his cool. By having his personal revenge, he really jeopardized the French's hopes.

By the way, the newspaper sided Zidane and Chechen for the same reason, religion. This is how religion will bring the world down to its knees. Once the savior of mankind, created by brainy people, I really salute them, now the destroyer... Most of these creators will be shaking their head in disgust! I think the big problem is really they're too many stupid people interpreting religion. We must really call upon the creators' spirits to ask them for advice on current issues...

The best is still a world with a common, shared moral value. A common ideology... Sounds familiar? I sounded like Marx...

I Love Her, I Like Her

Ages ago, a friend of mine told me, 'Loving someone is different from liking someone.' I was confused since then, trying to figure out what's the difference between loving and liking someone.

Finally, after almost 3 years, the answer hit me while I was showering after a sweaty night out at S2 SiangMalam... I was about to apply shampoo when I realized :

Liking someone is easier than loving someone. Love is adoration plus some commitment.

That's my answer!

Oh Pampers!

Really thought I saw some pampers at Chan Wa this evening. I was there to get ruX2. While waiting for him at the roadside after managing to squeeze our Nissan between 2 cars, we listened to Mariah's songs, Sienz's all time favorite. That was when...

The car in front of us departed, a long Mercedes parked right in. The driver, a plump Chinese guy in his 40s got out and searched the crowd for his kid. After around 5 minutes, a small boy, perhaps 13 years old got to the car. His father was delighted to see him, and getting to the passenger side, he OPENED the door for his boy to get into the car before getting into his own seat and driving away. My oh my! OK let's be fair. Maybe the kid's flexor digitorum superficialis and flexor digitorum profundus plus biceps brachii and triceps (not forgetting latissimus dorsi) had undergone atrophy due to some profuse pampering in the past...

Just a few minutes later, a mother carried her son's plastic bag of notes and books to some place out of sight! Her son was nowhere the definition of sick. He, a perfect definition of a plump, healthy kid was only carrying his backpack, and it was the size of a normal schoolboy's bag...

My oh my! I wonder what will happen in the future. Parents bathing secondary school children in goat milk?

Final Last Month

The first years had just moved in, and the second years are starting their classes.

Time flies! I can still remember my buddy CheeWei passing me my second year notes about a year ago in UT. The boxes of papers are still tucked under my table, and in just a blink of the eye, I am going to pass it on to my junior. Time flies!

And now just a month to my term break (finally, Sigh!) in August. Most of my friends, instead, had just started lectures this week. I was wondering why the heck we had 3 semesters instead of 2. Who else but zzz had came up with this idea? We're UM o... Must be DIFFERENT! Must not be the same level! Zzz... What's with the grandeur... This runs same to the 'attire' ruling. I REALLY think that, dressing up properly with ties will really help grades, AND attitude... Well, real life examples are all around us. I suddenly felt like a 'rattling empty can' or a 'rotten orange with a nice peel', if I can pinpoint to the 2 proverbs I used to learn in primary school...

Now off with the boring part. Who cares wearing this dumb shirt and tie everyday (mind you, under the hot sun) What I am looking forward is the 2 months after the finals... I'm planning a trip to Gunung Ledang as well as Singapore. The latter would really cost me some fortune... See lah!

Look! Another example of the 'empty can' --- rotten Manglish! And I'd seen worst!

Don't Drink and Drive

Yesterday I was driving back on Huah's Kelisa. I reached the Lobak-SMK Puteri junction, and turned right, into a one way street. A motorist on my right suddenly swerved left... I braked immediately. HE ALMOST HIT MY GF's CAR! That idiot! What was he doing??!?! I'd never stared at another motorist for that long in my life... He looked blur, my GF said that he might had been drunken... Plus, he did not even apologize in any manner. IDIOT! That's why our roads are littered with bodies!

Speaking of alcohol, the only good I know about this compound is its antiseptic/disinfectant use. I still cannot figure out why people like getting drunk and behaving like idiots. Just for that few moments, he might be feeling as if he's in heaven, but to me he's just a dumbass who doesn't know how to control himself... Some even pose danger to the public, like the previous case above. There are so many cases of husbands beating up wives, drunken. There are even more cases of assault, drunken again! Why the heck do people still get drunken? Maybe they want to be some kind of unofficial, daily drunken master... Stupid!

There was a commercial on the radio, 'Don't drive after enjoying your drink. You might end up having an accident and miss the world cup finals.' Well... This commercial certainly uses the advantage of the current world cup to remind people not to drink and drive, kudos to the people that thought about the idea.

This makes me wondering again. Are they making advantage of the world cup? Or is the current 'Don't drink and drive, you might lose your loved ones' campaign not quite effective? They had to resort to some football instead of reminding people of their loved ones to persuade people not to drink? No offense to the inventor, he certainly had noble ideas, serving the community. But isn't the community a little bit off the limits? They put football/the world cup, above their families/spouses/kids??? If the current 'family' campaign is running well enough, the radio station doesn't really have to make use of the world cup, they will just mention, 'Love your family, don't drink and drive.' Instead...

There are so much an evidence that the public loves football more than their family. What's wrong with people nowadays?

They should refer the term, 'loved-ones' to football.

ITALIA! ITALIA!

The roar of the small crowd in the stadium... The perfect sucker punch. The perfect counter-attack. Even the tough German players are reduced to tears.

As I had forseen, Cannavaro is still the best, so is Buffon!

Major upset, although I was jumping in A1107 after the 2nd goal by DelPiero... I was so afraid that they might equalize in the last minute and force the game into penalties. Sadly I have no faith in Italy when it comes to shootouts... The Germans are better at that...

Lucky though, the timely strike, not early, yet not late to win the game, saved Italy. An early goal would result in 80+minutes of defending, and the enemy team will eventually find the net to force extra time, and in extra time, the opposing team will triumph over a deflated Italy side... Luckily though, the 118th minute... Just nice!

Semi-s

Germany = +1.00GMT, Malaysia = +8.00GMT
9pm Germany = 8pm GMT
8pm GMT = 8+8 = 16pm? Malaysia

16-12 = 3am Malaysia

Hmm... 3am... Should I sleep for the telecast? Or should I go over to the 11th floor to DoTA for 3 hours starting 12am? Lecture starts at 9am tomorrow...

What the heck! I had lecture for the past 2 years but I had waited for the semi-s for 4 years. Which one dictates more attention?

Stop them --- the Germans, both of you! Faith!

I shall print my poster presentation, laminate it, prepare some points, present it on Thursday morning, and vanish in a blink of an eye before anyone (especially Chelsia) can say,

"Let's go home!"
